The Practitioner's Craft
The Practitioner's Craft
I design learning that changes what people can do.
Across almost 20 years spanning K-12, higher education, and federal adult training, I have learned that understanding adult learning principles is only half the work. The impact comes from applying them in real training and workforce environments, and proving they worked. In one program, that meant moving reading proficiency from 31% to 78% in five weeks. The method behind a result like that is what I bring to every project.
I design with data, both the numbers and the human story behind them, because quantitative and qualitative evidence together are what should drive how a program is designed, delivered, and evaluated. And I design with people, not just for them. Intentional collaboration with stakeholders and learners surfaces the real needs underneath the request, so what I build is relevant, used, and tied to the outcomes an organization actually cares about.
The result is learning that does not just inform, but performs.
